6 Flyers Who Won't Return Next Season

After a disappointing 2023-24 campaign, don't count on seeing these six Philadelphia Flyers back with the organization next season.

2. Denis Gurianov, RW

Denis Gurianov was a late-season addition to the Flyers' roster. Philadelphia acquired him from the Nashville Predators at the trade deadline in exchange for minor-leaguer Wade Allison.

Gurianov, 26, was once seen as a promising stud after racking up 20 goals as a rookie with the Dallas Stars in 2019-20. Much to his dismay, though, he's struggled to reach those heights since then and his 2023-24 performance is an example of his decline.

After recording a goal and an assist in 14 games with the Predators, Gurianov has been held pointless in his first four Flyers appearances. He's barely generated any offense during that stretch (four shots on goal), leading to his becoming a frequent member of head coach John Tortorella's healthy scratch list.

Although it's a small sample size, nothing about Gurianov's play with the Flyers suggests that he's worth re-signing this offseason. He'll also be an unrestricted free agent this summer, meaning it'll be up to another team to help turn his career around.
