6 Eagles Who Could Request Trades Next After Haason Reddick

2. Darius Slay, Cornerback
Heading into the 2023 season, it seemed as though Darius Slay could be on the way out. His contract had become a problem for the Eagles and they were reportedly shopping him.
Slay, who is a long-time NFL veteran, understood the business side of things and never harbored any ill will toward the franchise. Even with the rumors, Slay returned to the team and even restructured his contract, which added one more year to his deal in the process.
Now entering the final year of his deal, Slay is coming off a 57-tackle campaign that included 14 pass defenses and two picks. On the whole, he had some struggles and earned a 66.0 from Pro Football Focus — a drop off from 73.1 in the prior season.
Slay was still the best cornerback the Eagles had and the team would be thrilled to keep him around. The question is whether or not he's satisfied with the team.
There might not be any rumors floating out there and he wasn't a problem in 2022 despite all the noise. Still, he just turned 33 and unless he's convinced Vic Fangio is a major upgrade, he might not be willing to go back out there and play in a secondary that struggles to cover everyone.
