5. Bryce Huff, EDGE

Boy, this would be absolutely shocking considering the Eagles just gave Bryce Huff $34 million in guaranteed money this offseason, but his play on the field doesn't warrant messing around with force-feeding snaps, either.

There are legitimate writers calling for more snaps for rookie Jalyx Hunt over Huff so far this season...

"The Eagles are preaching patience with both Bryce Huff, their $51.1 million free agent signee, and Nolan Smith, their 2023 first-round pick. But it's not working. Through four games, Huff has 0 sacks and 2 tackles, and Smith has 0 sacks, although he did have 5 tackles Sunday.

Jalyx Hunt was the Eagles' third-round pick last spring. He played 5 snaps Sunday, the first defensive snaps of his career. Put it this way, Hunt can't be much worse than Huff and Smith. It's telling that the Eagles' best edge rusher this season has been Brandon Graham, and he's 36 years old."

Huff hasn't registered a single quarterback hit through the first four weeks of the season, much less a sack. He has two total tackles on 113 total snaps. That's not what you're looking for when you throw $34 million in guaranteed cash at a player in NFL free agency.

And that's also the biggest issue with NFL free agency. Guys make it to the open market for one reason or another, and it might be that Bryce Huff was some fool's gold this offseason.
