There's no doubt that Philadelphia Eagles fans are some of the most impatient in the NFL, but for good reason. This fanbase expects greatness, and the expectation of greatness can turn them against pretty much anyone in the organization if the boot fits.

The Eagles are 2-2 to start the 2024 season. They've scored more than 21 points just one time (in Week 1), and they are frankly fortunate to have even won the two games that they did. This Eagles team was in the Super Bowl just two seasons ago and looked like one of the most complete all-around rosters in the league, but things have drastically shifted for them since a little more than midway through last year.

The Eagles have been an unfortunate disappointment, which likely means that wholesale changes are on the table and heads could start to roll in 2025. Which Eagles players (and coaches) could be unlikely to return in 2025 based on the way things have been going to start 2024?

6 Eagles Who Will Not Be Back in 2025 After Rough Start

1. Jahan Dotson, wide receiver

The Philadelphia Eagles will want to give Jahan Dotson a little bit more time before they just completely write him off, but Dotson is the latest in a seemingly long line of players to fail as third options at the wide receiver position for this Eagles team.

Why can the Eagles not find a legitimate option behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith? Finding a third option at receiver has been Howie Roseman's absolute kryptonite in the last handful of years.

Dotson is just seemingly the latest. The Eagles struck a rare in-division trade with the Washington Commanders at roster cuts to get Dotson, a trade that surprised a lot of people because Dotson is a pretty recent first-round pick. The Commanders moved on and the Eagles willingly took him in, thinking they had just found an absolute steal on the trade market.

Dotson has five catches for 25 yards through the first four games of the season, and that's with AJ Brown missing some significant time already. It's not looking good for Dotson to be a main fixture for this team in 2024 or beyond.
