3. John Ross, Wide Receiver

John Ross was a star before he entered the NFL. The Washington product set an NFL record when he ran a 4.22 in the 40-yard dash — which was recently bested by Xavier Worthy.

Ross was over-drafted due to this as the Cincinnati Bengals took him at No. 9 overall. He was a bust for them, catching 51 passes for 733 yards and 10 touchdowns in four years. He then spent one year with the New York Giants, adding 224 yards and a touchdown on 11 catches. He boasted an impressive 20.4 yards per catch but was far from a complete wideout.

He also hasn't seen the field in the regular season since and announced his retirement in 2023 while with the Kansas City Chiefs. He changed hims mind a few months later but the Chiefs released him anyway. He's now trying to make it back with the Eagles and admitted retiring was a mistake.

"I never wanted to leave football," Ross said during a news conference via Bobby Kownack of NFL.com. "I think I was just as a point in my life where I had a lot going on. Literally, the day I retired I knew it was a mistake. But I think when you go through so much in life and you can only control so much, you get to a place, mentally and physically, from what I've been dealing with and what I dealt with, it was tough.

Ross has a lot of speed but hasn't caught a pass in more than two years. There are several younger options on the team as well, making him a long shot to make this team.
