6 Eagles Who Could Be Cut Before Playing a Snap

4. P.J. Mustipher, Nose Tackle
Football runs in the blood of P.J. Mustipher. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound nose tackle saw his brother, Sam Mustipher, play for Notre Dame and eventually the Chicago Bears. His father, Sam Mustipher, Sr. never made the NFL but he too made it to the NCAA as a member of the West Virginia Mountaineers.
He entered the 2024 NFL Draft but the Penn State product never heard his name called. He was eventually signed by the Denver Broncos but never made it to the regular season with them. Instead, he was waived ahead of the regular season and signed to the practice squad.
In early December, the New Orleans Saints added him to their active roster and he appeared in four games. In just 43 snaps (42 on defense, one on special teams), Mustipher had four tackles. That wasn't enough for them to retain him and Mustipher signed with the Eagles this offseason.
He has the talent to make it as a run-stuffing specialist but this might be the worst team in the NFL for him to try and make a 53-man roster. Even with Fletcher Cox retiring this offseason, the Eagles are deep at defensive tackle.
Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Marlon Tuipulotu, and Thomas Booker IV are all listed as D-tackles. The Eagles also have Milton Williams, Moro Ojomo, and Gabe Hall who are listed at defensive end but threatening 300 pounds. Mustipher has the size needed to play nose tackle but he needs to prove he can offer more than several of these players or risk being let go.
