6 Eagles Already on Thin Ice in Training Camp
5. Tyler Steen, offensive guard
The retirement of center Jason Kelce has absolutely changed things for the Philadelphia Eagles on the offensive line, as you might expect. Kelce was not only a fan favorite, but legitimately one of the best centers in the NFL.
Eagles fans don't need reminding of that.
But the departure of Kelce has paved the way for Cam Jurgens to move to his natural position of center and former third-round pick Tyler Steen is potentially in line to replace Jurgens at right guard. That could be a question mark if he isn't consistently on the field.
As of right now, there isn't exactly growing buzz of this, but you can't help but wonder if former first-round pick Mekhi Becton -- who is cross-training at tackle and guard -- could end up being a factor in the mix. Becton is ridiculously talented and the only thing that really held him back with the New York Jets was an inability to consistently stay on the field.
"I'm 25 years old. I'm in my prime seasons and I'm ecstatic being here. This group, our offensive line room, it's the best I've ever been around. Coach Stout (Jeff Stoutland, run game coordinator/offensive line coach), is second to none. He gives you everything he has. He loves you. He wants you to be the best you can be and you can feel that as a player and I'm feeling that."

Imagine the Eagles' offensive line with the likes of Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Lane Johnson, and Mekhi Becton all in the lineup. That's size on top of size.
We'll see what one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL -- Jeff Stoutland -- can make happen as far as reviving Becton's promising career.
