There is a lot of pressure on the entire Philadelphia Eagles organization this year to get back into contention in the NFC after an extremely disappointing finish to the 2023 season. The Eagles looked like they were poised to be a consistent unstoppable force in the NFC as of their run in 2022, but a lot of flaws with this roster were exposed last year, and GM Howie Roseman set out to correct course in 2024.

But there are still a number of players and even coaches on the hot seat as we get into training camp. The NFL preseason is not far off, and as training camp heats up, position battles and roster spots will start to gain some clarity.

Which Eagles players find themselves on thin ice in the early goings of camp?

1. Oren Burks, linebacker

At this point, it's not only going to be tough for Oren Burks to make it into the rotation at the linebacker position, but it might be difficult for him to make it on the Eagles' 53-man roster overall.

Burks is coming to the Eagles this year after a strong stint with the San Francisco 49ers. As a reserve for the 49ers, Burks came in during the 2022 season and set a career-high with 38 total tackles. He beat that mark in 2023 when he racked up 46 total tackles and three tackles for loss. He also added his first career interception.

The Eagles set out to add to the linebacker position in the 2024 offseason after noticing that was one of the team's biggest roster weaknesses in 2023. They signed Devin White and Zack Baun in free agency along with Burks, but Burks isn't practicing right now.

Meanwhile, Baun has been one of the stories of the offseason and looks like he's going to be a starter for Vic Fangio in 2024 alongside White. Burks is out with an injured knee and is missing precious time.
