5. Add Real Linebacker Help

By "real linebacker help" I don't mean Shaquille Leonard. I don't mean hoping that Sydney Brown can add "off-ball linebacker" to his long array of positions.

I'm high on Zach Cunningham, and Nicholas Morrow can absolutely do the job as a run defender.

But Morrow is absolutely miscast in an every-down role. He should not be on the field in passing situations, and the Eagles' lack of coverage linebackers made things even harder on the already often-overmatched safety group.

Linebacker is not a premium position these days, and legitimate help is not expensive to bring in. Ignoring the position, going cheap and trying to hit a home run with a washed-up veteran can not be the plan next season.

Of course, that's doubly true if we can't re-sign Cunningham.

Lavonte David and Patrick Queen are going to be popular free agents targets for LB-needy teams, but the Eagles absolutely need to get in the mix and fight hard to bring one of those guys to Philly.
