5. Tanner McKee

Stop me if you've heard this one.

I think it's a pretty safe bet Jalen Hurts is active on Sunday. I even suspect he might figure to play a big role in the offense.

Behind Hurts, Philly only needs to make one QB active. Because if Hurts and his backup both get hurt (or ejected, presumably for mocking Jets fans when they start whining about a Brotherly Shove touchdown) then an emergency third QB can come into the game even if they weren't on the active roster.

Since there would be no situation where you want your QB3 while either of the first two can play, that means it'd just be a waste of a spot to designate one as active.

So the competition for one spot comes down to Marcus Mariota or Tanner McKee.

I think McKee has what it takes to be the long-term answer as Hurts' backup, but he's not there yet, and likely won't be at all while Mariota is under contract this season.
