3. Albert Okwuegbunam

With Quez Watkins back in the lineup and Britain Covey healthy enough to handle return duties in Week 5, there wasn't much room for additional offensive weapons.

Devon Allen remained down on the practice squad after having been elevated when Watkins was hurt, and Albert Okwuegbunam claimed his usual spot on the inactive list.

Albert O was active for the first time as an Eagle in Week 4, but he was clearly just offering some emergency depth for a depleted pass-catcher group. He didn't play a single snap (offensive or special teams).

There's no reason to roll with four tight ends on game day, but with plenty of capable receivers in the group, sometimes a tight end is our best option to provide depth at wide receiver. That's not something we need this week.

Backup tight ends can also often earn their roster spots with special teams play (Grant Calcaterra has been on the field for 40% of the Eagles’ special teams snaps this season), but Okwuegbunam is clearly not going to contribute there either.

That TE-WR depth versatility explains why Okwuegbunam continues to hold a spot on the Eagles' 53-man roster, but it doesn't seem likely that it's going to earn him any playing time in the near future. It would take either an injury to one of the top three tight ends or multiple injuries at the WR spot to get him on the field.
