You can never afford to coast during the NFL season, but sometimes getting off to a hot start does feel like it buys you some wiggle room. That hasn't been the case in Philly though.

The 5-0 start is nice, but there's nobody in the organization who thinks this team has lived up to its potential so far, and the coaching staff isn't going to be shy about making the changes needed to reach that point.

That includes changes to the gameday roster, forcing fringe players on the 53 to fight for their spots on the active roster anew every week.

Here are five Eagles who you can expect to be inactive against the Jets on Sunday.

1. Justin Evans

The Eagles' injury woes in the secondary just keep piling up.

Justin Evans returned against the Rams last weekend after a neck injury sidelined him in Week 4, and he’s right back on the injury report for this one, having missed Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury.

One missed practice is too early to say that he's out for sure, but when we've got a guy who's just returned after missing the better part of two games, a sudden DNP is hard to ignore.

And of course, we can't remove this from the context of Evans' career — this is a guy who didn’t play a single game from 2019 through 2021. He's not exactly the most durable guy out there, and that could weigh into the decision around whether to have him push to play through the injury or not.

Sydney Brown looks well on his way to returning, getting in a limited practice on Wednesday, and that will also make it easier to decide to keep Evans on the sideline.
