4 Studs (& 1 Dud) From the Phillies' NLCS Game 2 Win Over the Diamondbacks
By Tyler Maher
Dud: Johan Rojas
There weren't too many duds to choose from in this game. When in doubt, however, we can always go back to our old friend Johan Rojas.
Rojas had a nice rookie season with a .771 OPS and 14 steals in 59 games, but he's looked totally overmatched in the playoffs. He went 0-for-4 again on Tuesday, striking out twice. He also left 4 men on base, including 3 in scoring position.
Even worse, Rojas was the one who ended both of Philly's big innings, stranding a pair of runners both times. He grounded out to end the sixth with runners on second and third, then grounded out again with runners on first and second to end the seventh.
At least he put the ball in play after striking out in his first 2 at-bats, but maybe next time he could hit it out of the infield?
The 23-year-old rookie is now 2-for-29 in the postseason (.069 average) with a .203 OPS. He's 1-for-his-last-26 and has shown no signs of breaking out of his rut. Fortunately, the rest of the Phillies are doing so much damage that they can afford to have a black hole at the bottom of the lineup.
