4 Studs (& 1 Dud) From Eagles Sunday Night Football Win Over Dolphins
By Randy Gurzi
Eagles Stud: Haason Reddick, EDGE
The Dolphins were off to a quick start on their opening drive after Tyreek Hill hauled in a 15-yard reception, giving Miami some momentum. But it didn't last long. On the very next play, Tua Tagovailoa handed the ball to Raheem Mostert who was smacked in the backfield by Haason Reddick for a five-yard loss.
His hit set the Dolphins up with a second-and-15 and they then threw a short pass to Hill for no gain. From there, Tua was under pressure and couldn't complete a short pass to Mostert and they had to give the ball right back to Philadelphia.
Known as a stud pass-rusher, Reddick again stopped Mostert for a loss on the second drive. Miami got the ball on the Philadelphia 23 after a Jalen Hurts fumble. The defense held them to a field goal, thanks in large part to a hold negating a touchdown from Hill, and Reddick again helped set the tone.
It was easy to see how important Reddick was to the defense when he was on the field but almost as easy to see when he left. Miami couldn't move the ball throughout the first half on the ground but finally started to get something together when he was on the sideline.
He finished with four tackles, two of which went for a loss and was a major reason Miami couldn't move the ball at will.
