The Philadelphia 76ers have a ton of cap space and desire to be active in the offseason. They should think about bringing back a few former Sixers.

Isaiah Joe

Waiving Isaiah Joe before the 2022-23 season was one of the most baffling decisions this organization has made in the last couple of years. The former second-round pick was on a minimum contract with the team and had shown intriguing upside in the first two seasons of his Sixers tenure.

Two years later, Joe is the exact type of player the Sixers need.

After leaving Philly, the shooting guard signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder. There, he turned into one of the best sharpshooters in the league, hitting two threes per game on 41.2% shooting. His movement shooting, versatility in his shot, and quick release make him impossible to stop beyond the arc.

Plus, he is still only 24 years old. He has good size for a shooting guard and can defend his own position reasonably well. Players who are this good at shooting and can stay in front of opposing players defensively are hard to come by.

That is why poaching Isaiah Joe will be very difficult for the Sixers. OKC has a team option of $2.1 million for Joe. They may decide to decline it and extend him instead to make sure they get him on a longer-term, team-friendly deal. If the Sixers can bowl the Thunder over with a sign-and-trade offer, they may be able to bring Joe back. Otherwise, this may be a pipe dream to his team-friendly contract status.
