4 Eagles Veterans Who Could Be Traded to Start a Rebuild

After getting bounced out of the playoffs by the Buccaneers, the Eagles could consider a rebuild. If that's the case, these four veteran players could be on their way out this offseason.

2. A.J. Brown, WR

If the Eagles blow it all up, fans shouldn't be too surprised if A.J. Brown is one of the first players out the door.

On paper, it seems crazy to think that the Eagles would move on from Brown so soon. It was only in 2022 that they sent a first-round pick to the Tennessee Titans to acquire the former Ole Miss product. He's more than lived up to the hype that surrounded that deal, turning 194 catches into 2,952 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns over the last two seasons.

Nevertheless, the shine surrounding Brown seems to be wearing off amongst Philly fans. First, there were rumors of a growing rift between him and the Eagles coaching staff. Although he did his best to dispel any rumored animosity, Brown didn't exactly help the situation when he deleted all mentions of the team from his Instagram page ahead of the Wild Card Round.

Brown is one of the best wideouts in the NFL today, but there comes a point where the off-field drama just isn't worth it. If the Eagles do opt for a rebuild, the last thing they need is someone who's involved in distraction after distraction, regardless of how true any rumors wind up being.

With Brown still under contract for three more seasons and his being, arguably, a top-five WR, the Eagles could get back quite the haul if they choose to move on.

A trade would likely have to wait until after June 1, though, as the Eagles would eat $28.9 million in dead cap if he's moved before then, per Spotrac.
