4 Eagles Philadelphia Can't Afford to Let Hit Free Agency in 2024
4. RB D'Andre Swift
With Miles Sanders joining the Carolina Panthers last offseason, D'Andre Swift took over as the Eagles' No. 1 running back in 2023.
Signed to a one-year deal, Swift found himself having a career year in Philadelphia. The former Georgia Bulldog set career marks across the board when it came to carries (229), rushing yards (1,049), and scrimmage yards (1,263) across 16 games. He had some of the best rushing performances of the year, including when he racked up a combined 305 yards on the ground in Weeks 2 and 3.
We live in a world where running backs are often replaced, but that doesn't mean the Eagles should let go of Swift. He's only 25 years old and is coming off his first-ever Pro Bowl appearance. There's a decent chance that we haven't even seen the best that he has to offer. He was also born and raised in Philly, so letting go of a talented local player would likely upset a good portion of the fanbase.
Swift is one of the better free-agent RBs this offseason, so chances are it wouldn't take long for another team to snatch him up if he reaches the open market. If the Eagles are wise, they won't let that come close to happening.
