3 Studs (and 2 Duds) From Phillies' Game 2 Win Over Marlins
Well, that was easy.
By Tyler Maher
Stud: Bryson Stott
Stott was on his way to being a dud for this game after striking out in his first 2 plate appearances and stranding a runner in scoring position.
Then he did this.
Stott yanked the first pitch he saw from reliever Andrew Nardi deep into the night for a grand slam that effectively ended the series, putting Philadelphia up 7-0 in the sixth. His knockout punch raised the Phillies' win probability above 99% and effectively put the game on ice.
Stott struck out in his final at-bat to finish the game with 3 whiffs, but who cares? When you hit a grand slam, you're going to end up on the stud list. It's as simple as that.
It was also only the second grand slam in Phillies postseason history, which makes it even cooler.
