Stud Johan Rojas

Johan Rojas pulled off a bit of a stud move just by starting this game — as the youngest Phillies player to start a postseason game since 1915. When you're doing something for the first time since guys named "Milt Stock" were playing the game, you're impressive.

But just starting the game wasn't enough for the 23-year-1-month-19-day-year-old.

When the first at-bat for your No. 9 hitter goes nine pitches, you're happy. Even if he gets out. But Rojas fought long and hard and got on base, then advanced to second with a great jump on a wild pitch.

From there he was driven in as the first run of the game, thanks to a great swing from Alec Bohm.

That was the lone hit for Rojas, but like with Bohm's moment, that one was enough. And Rojas isn't a guy we expect to have huge offensive performances.

He had a 25.6% strikeout rate to just a 3.0% walk rate in the regular season. He’s inexperienced and you expect a lot of quick at-bats from him, especially when the pressure is on.

But he rose to the occasion in a massive way. Handling the bright lights of the playoffs like that is a great sign that Rojas is going to be the real deal as he gets more experience under his belt. This could be the beginning of one of those incredible, unexpected postseason breakouts that goes down in team lore.

Now the duds.
