3 Reasons the Phillies Will Upset the Braves in NLDS
By Tyler Maher
3. Momentum is on Our Side
As noted above, the Braves will have had nearly a full week off by the time the NLDS starts on Saturday, which can be both a blessing and a curse.
On the one hand, they'll be well-rested. On the other, they'll be rusty and their timing will be off. This is the longest break they've had all season, and nothing can truly prepare you for the intense atmosphere of postseason baseball.
Atlanta also clinched the division weeks ago, so it's been a long time since that team played a meaningful game. Do they even remember what that feels like?
We're in a much better spot schedule-wise. We already got the playoff jitters out against the Marlins, and since we swept them we get two days off to recover. That's the perfect amount of time to recharge without losing your focus.
This team is also hell-bent on winning the World Series this year after coming so close last year. We've got a bunch of guys playing for a ring who have never won one before, including Nola, Wheeler, Harper, Castellanos and others. Many of Atlanta's players just won the Fall Classic two years ago, so that same drive and determination isn't there.
We're hungry, fired up and ready to go. The Marlins were just the appetizer, and now the Braves are next on the menu.
