3 Players Who Have Gone Missing at Eagles Training Camp

These three players haven't made much noise for the Philadelphia Eagles during the first part of training camp.

1. James Bradberry, Safety

This might actually be a good thing.

James Bradberry had one of the worst seasons of any player in the NFL last year. While there were clearly players who performed worse, Bradberry seemed to have every mistake highlighted. That was especially true when they suffered a late-season loss to the Seattle Seahawks who had turned to Drew Lock with Geno Smith injured.

Lock picked on Bradberry during the game-winning drive, targeting him on every pass. In the end, rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba scored the go-ahead touchdown on the veteran.

Throughout the offseason, it appeared as though Bradberry would be on the way out. The Eagles added Quinyon Mithcell and Cooper DeJean in the NFL Draft. They would join Darius Slay and Kelee Ringo who had a strong campaign in 2023. They also re-signed Avonte Maddox after initially releasing him.

All these moves had Bradberry deep on the depth chart leading to predictions he would be cut. That didn't happen and while it might have been due to his salary, the Eagles found a way to help him rebound. Bradberry has been moved to safety, which not only takes him out of constant single coverage but fills a need since Philadelphia wasn't deep at the position.

Since making the move, the news surrounding him has quieted. Again, that could be a good thing since it means we're no longer discussing his release. We're also not hearing about countless touchdowns surrendered. This position change was a smart move that could benefit everyone involved.
