3 Offseason Mistakes Already Costing the Eagles

2. Signing Bryce Huff to a Massive Deal
Haason Reddick is a problem, but he was at least productive.
The Eagles traded Reddick to the New York Jets this offseason after he gave them 27 sacks over two years. While he's holding out in New York, it's still safe to wonder if the best bet for Philly would have been to pay Reddick.
Perhaps the answer is still no, but it also seems as though they made a mistake in replacing him with Bryce Huff.
Huff had a breakout season with the New York Jets, recording 29 tackles and 10 sacks. That led to a three-year deal worth $51.1 million. They believed he would be the new anchor on defense but through two games, he's been a non-factor.
The former Memphis standout has just one tackle thus far and no sacks. Of course, it's hard to record many statistics when you hardly see the field — and that's been the case for Huff who has just 62 snaps in the first two games.
It might be easier to deal with Huff's lack of production if there was someone lighting up the stat sheet. However, that hasn't been the case either. In fact, the Eagles have just three sacks through two weeks with linebacker Zack Baun recording two of them and defensive tackle Milton Williams picking up the other.
The Eagles had options in free agency other than Huff but they zeroed in on him and paid him to be an elite player. So far, he hasn't been close to that and this one looks like another whiff.
