3. Ben Johnson

I could’ve put Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick on the list, as they would be most teams' dream hires. However, with the Eagles' recent trend of not picking re-tread head coaches, it wouldn’t be a shock to see them give Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson a call.

Johnson is one of the trendier head coaching candidates this season, as he’s taken the Lions’ offense to new heights.

This season, Detroit is ranked fifth in scoring (27.1 points per game), fifth in rushing offense (135.9 yards per game), and second in passing offense (258.9 yards per game). He’s doing this with Jared Goff at quarterback, who has reinvented himself in the Motor City after struggling with Los Angeles.

Johnson’s offense does a great job of getting guys open and leans on the running game, which is what Eagles fans have been clamoring about all season. Could you imagine what he could do with Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, Dallas Goedert, and potentially D’Andre Swift?

The offense would look like what we saw with then-offensive coordinator Shane Steichen last season, who became the Colts head coach this season. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see where Johnson lands in the coaching carousel and ultimately what the Eagles decide to do with Sirianni.

Is there a chance Lurie starts fresh at head coach after seeing the Eagles fall apart over the last two months of the season? Or will he give Sirianni another year to figure out as Philly rolls out new coordinators for the second consecutive season? All those questions will be answered this offseason.

Other candidates that should be considered: Steve Wilks, Mike Macdonald, Raheem Morris
