3. Chase Young, DE

The Eagles know about Chase Young all too well. He was the No. 2 overall pick by the Washington Commanders in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Young came into the NFL with sky-high expectations. The Ohio State product stands at 6'5 and weighs 265 pounds. He's able to impose his will on offensive linemen. Young uses his long arms and hands to create separation.

The 25-year-old owns a nice variety of pass-rush moves that include rip, swim, or dip moves to get around tackles. Young tore his ACL in 2021, which halted his progression but he still has the ability to be productive.

In four years with the San Francisco 49ers and Washington Commanders, Young compiled 100 total tackles, 16.5 sacks, 20 TFLs, and 32 QB hits.

This offseason, Young joined the New Orleans Saints on a prove-it deal. It was a one-year, $13 million contract. In two games with the Saints, Young has registered nine total pressures, six QB hurries, two QB hits, and a .5 sack.

If Philadelphia decided to sign Young, it would have a low-risk, high-reward kind of deal. A one-year contract wouldn't affect the organization long term while getting the player to play his hardest to earn another deal.

Young is someone the Eagles could have targeted instead of Huff but they decided to roll with the latter instead.
