2. Jerick McKinnon

The Eagles made the biggest running back splash of the offseason by deciding to move on from D'Andre Swift and replace him with once-rival Saquon Barkely. The Penn State product's arrival helps elevate this offense's ceiling, as many hope he'll have a similar impact as Christian McCaffrey's had on the San Francisco 49ers.

Philly shouldn't think it's done making moves in the backfield, though. Kenneth Gainwell severely underwhelmed last season and isn't the strongest RB2. Meanwhile, Lew Nichols and Tyrion Davis-Price are the other backs on the roster right now.

One addition worth considering is Jerick McKinnon, especially due to his receiving prowess.

The 2023 campaign was an all-around poor showing for the 31-year-old due to injuries, but the year prior he was a major weapon in the passing game for Patrick Mahomes, racking up 512 receiving yards and a whopping nine TDs through the air. He even helped the Kansas City Chiefs defeat Philadelphia in that season's Super Bowl with 51 yards from scrimmage as well.

Considering Barkley's past injury troubles, it's important Philly shores up its depth behind him in case he misses any time. A stronger running back corps overall will also help cut down on the beating his body takes if Philly can freely rotate others in without a major decline in results.

The capable depth, legit playmaking in the receiving game, and championship experience he brings could make McKinnon a very nice signing for this team.
