1. James Bradberry, Cornerback/Safety

An injury might have actually bought James Bradberry time. Seen as a player who wasn't going to make the roster, he starts the season on the IR and is expected to miss a couple of months. Even if he returns, he's not someone who seems to be in the long-term plans. Most predictions have 2024 as his last season with the franchise.

Bradberry was a second-round pick out of Samford in 2016 and spent four years with the Carolina Panthers. He landed a big contract with the New York Giants in 2020 but lasted through just two of the three years he signed for.

Once on the open market, he agreed to terms with the Eagles on a one-year deal in 2022. That proved to be a win for both sides as he made the All-Pro team and earned another three-year deal.

After just one season, it's clear that he's not the player they hoped he would be.

Bradberry struggled mightily in 2023, surrendering 11 touchdowns in coverage. That was after being credited with just two during his All-Pro campaign. He was often targeted by opposing quarterbacks, with the worst case being against the Seattle Seahawks late in the season. Backup quarterback Drew Lock went after Bradberry on every pass in the final drive, ultimately hitting rookie receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a winning touchdown with the veteran cornerback trailing him.

Moving to safety under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was the last hope for Bradberry but he's been set back with his injury. If the secondary is fine without him, it's hard to see the Eagles bringing him back to the active roster once healthy.
