2. James Bradberry, CB

It’s a bit of a trend here as the second player who needs to be benched is veteran cornerback James Bradberry. A second-round pick out of Arkansas State in 2016, Bradberry spent four seasons with the Carolina Panthers before joining the New York Giants in 2020.

He was a Pro Bowler that year and by 2022, he had joined the Philadelphia Eagles. Paired with Darius Slay, he was supposed to give them a solid duo on the boundaries. And last year, he did well for the most part. So far in 2023, however, he's been trending in the wrong direction.

According to Pro Football Reference, Bradberry has surrendered 552 yards in 12 games — after giving up just 382 all season in 2022. What’s worse is his issues near the goal line as they’re crediting him with 10 touchdowns in coverage compared to just two last year. He’s also allowing 53.9 percent of the targets thrown his way to be caught which is nearly nine percent more than his first year in Philly.

In the loss to Dallas, he had issues on the outside and could have been called for a pass interference penalty in the end zone had Brandin Cooks worked his way back to the ball. As is the case with Roby, Bradberry likely stays due to a lack of options but they would be wise to see if anyone on the depth chart could give the defense a shot in the arm.
