3. James Bradberry, cornerback

Frankly, it's a bit shocking that the Eagles still have James Bradberry on the roster at this point. Perhaps it's something financial, but there are other teams out there in the NFL taking on much bigger dead cap hits for players, and the Eagles made their intentions with Bradberry very clear when they grabbed Quinyon Mitchell in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

...and then traded up to get Cooper DeJean in the second round.

Upgrading in the secondary was essential this offseason, and the Eagles said everything they needed to say without even saying it. Actions speak louder than words...

And ultimately, Bradberry's 2023 campaign has left questions about whether or not anyone will trust him to play at all this season. Earlier in the 2024 offseason, Eagles beat writer Reuben Frank wrote this regarding the veteran cornerback:

"Not many cornerbacks have (played as bad as Bradberry did in 2023).

Since Stathead began tracking these things, the 11 TD passes Bradberry allowed last year are the most on record, and his 114.3 defensive passer rating is 2nd-worst among corners who were targeted at least 100 times (behind Sean Murphy-Bunting’s 121.3 rating in 2020)."

Teams picked on Bradberry to the point that it derailed the Eagles' entire season. Not that Bradberry is the reason this team finished as poorly as they did, but his contributions weighed heavily.

With the players the Eagles have added this offseason, it's hard to imagine Bradberry playing a huge role. And at this point, he probably needs a change of scenery. There might not be any team out there willing to trade much to get him, but given the position he plays and given the fact that he played well two years ago, there's got to be at least one taker.
