2. D'Andre Swift, RB

One area the Philadelphia Eagles could look to the NFL Draft for some answers is the running back position. The Eagles went to free agency last offseason and got D'Andre Swift, who had about as underwhelming of a 1,000-yard season as you can possibly have.

The Eagles didn't run the ball as well in 2023 as they did in 2022, to say the least, and although this running back class doesn't look great on paper, there are some backs that we could see taking D'Andre Swift's job as RB1 in Philadelphia in just a handful of weeks.

Randy Gurzi wrote about a trio of backs that could take Swift's place, and I love the idea of Bucky Irving coming to Philadelphia and having his skills as a runner and receiver featured.

NFL.com Draft Analyst Lance Zierlein has this to say about Irving in his pre-draft scouting report:

"Compact and willful, Irving is deeply committed to each run his play-caller trusts him with. Irving punches above his weight class with excellent contact balance and leg drive to fight through tackles and squeeze every yard out of the run. For being such a high-effort runner, Irving has a remarkably low fumble rate. He is frequently in a rush and would rather run through a wall than around it, but he does have the agility to make tacklers miss with wide, lateral cuts when he runs with better patience."

I think we're a little more likely to see the Eagles go after a bigger back like Trey Benson before Irving, but the point is -- they have options in this year's draft to consider. With how much money they are spending on other positions offensively, the NFL Draft is the way for this team to go at running back.
