3 Eagles Sean Desai Could Take With Him to New Rams Job
By Jovan Alford
2. Fletcher Cox
If Cox doesn’t re-sign with the Eagles, the Rams would take him in a heartbeat to bolster their defensive line.
This past season, the Rams got tremendous production from Aaron Donald and rookie Kobie Turner, who combined for 17 sacks. However, they didn’t get much from the other defensive tackles on the roster.
Meanwhile, Cox turned back the clock in 2023 and showed that he still has a couple of years left in the tank.
The veteran defensive tackle balled out despite the Eagles’ defense being in flux as the team switched play callers. The 33-year-old recorded 33 combined tackles, 17 quarterback hits, and three tackles for loss.
Cox also ranked third on the team in quarterback pressures (28) and quarterback knockdowns (8). It’s crazy to think that Cox, at his age, outplayed second-year defensive tackle Jordan Davis, as it's supposed to be the other way around.
I highly doubt Cox would take a backup role on another team after playing at a high level this past season with the Eagles. However, he would be playing on the same d-line with Aaron Donald, which could free him up for more one-on-one opportunities.
