The Philadelphia Eagles notched another tough win in Week 8, downing the Washington Commanders for the second time this season. While it was nice to see the Eagles rally, things were much closer than they should've been thanks to a few culprits.

With that in mind, here are three Philadelphia players who should be on thin ice for their efforts in Week 8.

Eagles on Thin Ice After Week 8

1. Kenneth Gainwell

The first half featured plenty of indicators that this game would be a long day for the Eagles.

After falling behind 14-3, Philly finally got into the red zone midway through the second quarter. A huge pass from Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown put the team on Washington's 3-yard line with a prime opportunity to score a touchdown.

Kenneth Gainwell then heard his name called with a chance to come up with a play big for his team. Instead he immediately fumbled, ending the drive and giving the Commanders even more positive momentum with the second period waning.

The Eagles' use of Gainwell is simply inexcusable at this point. He managed to record just 60 yards on 21 attempts in the four contests prior to Week 8 combined, including a forgettable 4/14 performance against Washington on Oct. 1.

It's not like Philadelphia even needs to force the ball into Gainwell's hands. Every carry he receives takes away an opportunity from the supremely talented D'Andre Swift to make a play, and there's also the electric Rashaad Penny who just waiting for a chance to prove he's worth getting some snaps.

Gainwell's struggles in the RB2 role are a major concern for this team heading into the second half of the year.
