3. Avonte Maddox

With the Eagles having a surplus of talent at cornerback, there’s a possibility that Maddox might not make the team’s 53-man roster. Philadelphia released the veteran cornerback earlier in the offseason due to his high cap hit ($9.6 million), but then re-signed him to a one-year deal.

The former fourth-round draft pick has a ton of talent and the versatility to be a weapon in Vic Fangio’s defense, but he’s struggled to stay healthy. Maddox has only played 13 games in the last two seasons.

Last season, Maddox only played in four games after missing a lot of time with a torn pectoral injury. The veteran cornerback had 12 combined tackles, two pass deflections, and a tackle for loss.

The Eagles will address both safety and cornerback in the draft, but also in the undrafted free agency period. Therefore, it could leave Maddox in a potential roster crunch, which could make him available for other teams looking for cornerback help.
