'Tis the season for Santa to come down the chimney. Who in the Eagles organization deserves gifts and who deserves coal?

There Will Be Nothing But Coal for James Bradberry

Sure, there is an element of recency bias here because of how bad Monday night was. But as we reflect on a bad defense, James Bradberry is a significant part of that problem. His consistent inconsistencies defending lead to consistent success for the opposing quarterback and receiver.

Bradberry does have 46 tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery on his 2023 stat line. But that's not close to his efforts from last season and does not tell the story of the catches and yards he has given up in coverage. The opposing receiver has ended up with the ball in his hands over 50 percent of the time it is thrown in Bradberry's direction, and opposing quarterbacks have a combined 90.4 passer rating against him.

The bad news is this defense is not getting any healthier and Bradberry is not doing his part to step up and make the necessary plays. The even more bad news is that he is probably not going anywhere anytime soon after signing his 3-year deal before the beginning of this season. He's got to be better moving forward. Or, maybe the Eagles will consider the money worth it to move on without him. Who knows, but something has to change.
