2. D’Andre Swift

With a ton of quality veteran running backs in free agency this year, the Eagles may have a good chance to re-sign the 25-year-old Swift.

The Philadelphia native is coming off a career year in his first season with the Eagles. Swift had 1,049 rushing yards on 229 carries and five touchdowns. The former Detroit Lion running back might’ve had more rushing touchdowns last season, but Jalen Hurts stole some of his thunder with the tush push.

Nonetheless, Swift in the backfield was a night and day difference from Miles Sanders, who signed a four-year deal last offseason with the Carolina Panthers.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman doesn’t spend a lot on the running back spot. But with Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Austin Ekeler, and Tony Pollard Jr. all free agents, Philly might be able to get Swift on a discount.

Spotrac projects the 5-foot-9 running back’s calculated market value as a four-year, $27.1 million deal. If the Eagles didn’t give Sanders a four-year contract last year, it’s hard to see them giving Swift a four-year deal.

Therefore, I could see both sides coming to a happy medium on a three-year deal that will pay him upwards of $5 million a year. Philadelphia can still use multiple running backs on offense, but they need a true No. 1 option in the backfield, which Swift proved that he was last season.

Also, before we discuss the final Eagle player most likely to re-sign this offseason, we must mention that veteran running back Boston Scott will probably be back with the club for another season.
