1. Johnny Wilson, WR, Florida State: Round 6, No. 185

This pick was actually a very savvy one by the Eagles but it doesn't mean he's guaranteed to make the roster.

Johnny Wilson is a massive receiver at 6-foot-6 and 231 pounds. He's far from slow but his 4.52 time in the 40-yard dash wasn't enough to convince his doubters and he slid into Round 6. The Eagles were savvy enough to bring him in despite adding Ainais Smith in the fifth round.

Wilson started his NCAA career with Arizona State but didn't produce much for the Sun Devils. In 2022, he headed to Florida State and took off with 43 receptions for 897 yards (an impressive average of 20.9 per catch) with five touchdowns.

He wasn't as dangerous in 2023 with 617 yards on 41 receptions with two touchdowns. However, injuries to their quarterbacks were the reason for this.

Despite his size, Wilson is an ideal fit in the slot and that means he might have to battle Smith and free agent addition Parris Campbell for time. He could even be moved to tight end, which would hurt his initial growth. Throw all that in and it's possible Wilson doesn't make the team, even though he should be someone they groom for the future.
