When it comes to identifying Philadelphia Eagles NFL Draft "busts", you've got to be pretty picky and pretty selective. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been one of the best in the entire NFL at his job in recent years and has built two legitimate Super Bowl contenders in short order with a complete overhaul of the roster, including at the quarterback position.

Roseman and the Eagles draft exceptionally well, which means that some of the draft "busts" you might be looking at (who are still on the current roster) are going to be of the late-round variety. Maybe the Eagles took a risk on a player that hasn't worked out, or maybe they're getting replaced by a more recent draft pick.

Let's look at some recent draft picks who could be cut in the 2024 offseason for the Eagles.

1. Grant Calcaterra, tight end

The Philadelphia Eagles appear to have a solidified top two right now at the tight end position with Dallas Goedert and veteran CJ Uzomah atop the projected depth chart. Former sixth-round pick Grant Calcaterra is a cool story and a player who was once one of the top tight ends in all of college football before injury threatened to take his career away from him.

After resurfacing at SMU, Calcaterra re-established himself as a viable NFL prospect and has caught nine passes over the last two seasons for the Eagles. With Philly re-signing 2023 trade acquisition Albert Okwuegbunam in 2024, however, finding a spot for Calcaterra on this loaded roster is getting more and more difficult. He could be on his way out in 2024.
