3 Draft Picks Jalen Hurts Would Love
2. Tyler Guyton, OT
The Philadelphia Eagles head into the draft with eight total draft picks, including three picks in the Top-53 selections. They have a stout roster but they could still look to improve the team for the long haul.
GM Howie Roseman has never been shy of selecting offensive linemen and they should consider going down that well again.
Lane Johnson, 33, is entering his 12th NFL season. He's hinted at potentially retiring in the past but Johnson is locked in for the 2024 campaign. The 2013 fourth-overall pick is still playing at a high level but getting his replacement for the future isn't a bad idea. Someone they should consider selecting is Oklahoma's Tyler Guyton.
Guyton only logged 15 career starts so he's kind of raw but he's extremely gifted. He owns light feet in pass protection and has a powerful punch that drives blockers back. Guyton has fluid hips and quickness to move in the run game as well.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Guyton had a 5.19 second 40-yard dash and 1.76-second 10-yard split. He also looked smooth in the on-field drills. Guyton only gave two sacks in his college career and has all the tools needed to excel at the next level.
He does need some time to develop but this would be the perfect situation for him. Learning from a fellow Oklahoma Sooner and five-time Pro Bowler in Johnson would do wonders for Guyton's career.
This move continues to build the trenches for the future and also would make Jalen Hurts happy. He's the quarterback of the future in Philly and having your future tackle learn from one of the best in the game is a recipe for success.
