The Philadelphia Eagles have a lot of work to do this offseason after dropping six out of their last seven games, including a disappointing postseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles have several notable free agents that they must make decisions on and have nine projected draft picks to fill various needs. Luckily for Philadelphia, they aren’t that far away from competing for a Super Bowl once again.

They already made their changes at offensive and defensive coordinator, bringing in Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore, so their offseason plans are underway. However, what else should we expect from Philadelphia this season?

Well, that’s a good question. Below, we will discuss a few bold predictions that may or might not happen this offseason. Let’s jump into it!

1. Eagles Sign Patrick Queen/Devin White

The Eagles have been notorious for ignoring the linebacker position for years and believe they can put anybody out there to play. This season, Philadelphia saw that philosophy hurt them as opposing offenses took advantage of Nicholas Morrow and Shaquille Leonard.

Zach Cunningham played well after signing with the team on a one-year deal last offseason. However, losing Naboke Dean to a season-ending foot injury was a deflating loss as the team had big plans for the former third-round pick.

That being said, Eagles GM Howie Roseman needs to go out and make a splash in free agency. Therefore, why not sign the 24-year-old Patrick Queen or the 25-year-old Devin White?

Queen will get paid this offseason by the Ravens or another club, as he has shined throughout the first few years of their careers. The former LSU star linebacker is coming off an excellent 2023 season where he had a career-high 133 combined tackles, nine tackles for loss, six QB hits, six pass deflections, 3.5 sacks, and an interception.

Simply put, Queen was all over the field and is someone who would instantly upgrade Philly’s linebacker unit. Spotrac projects the young linebacker’s calculated market value as a five-year, $92.6 million deal. That’s a lot of change for a linebacker, and the Eagles don’t have a lot of cap space to work with.

However, when players like Queen are set to join the open market, it’s worth trying to see how much it would take to acquire him. If the Eagles don’t want to pay for Queen, they might take a shot on Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White.

White’s play took a step backward this season, as he only had 83 combined tackles, nine QB hits, six pass deflections, five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and two interceptions. However, the 25-year-old linebacker had a 67.4% completion percentage allowed on targets and a 65.5 pass rating allowed when targeted.

Lavonte David is also a free agent this offseason, so maybe the Bucs re-sign White. However, if I’m Howie Roseman, White could be a fun addition to what Fangio does on defense with his linebackers.
