2. Buddy Hield to Lead Sixers in Assists

Until Embiid returns, the Sixers will look for everybody to contribute in multiple ways when their number is called. Newest Sixer Buddy Hield has adjusted nicely to his new situation and has immediately made plays for others.

The veteran sharpshooter is scoring 22.3 points per game on 52.3% shooting from the field and 45% from three-point range in his first four games with Philadelphia. However, what’s more impressive from Hield is 7.5 assists per game.

The 31-year-old has dished out at least six assists in four straight games, which includes a 10-assist performance on Wednesday night against the Heat. Sixers fans shouldn’t expect Hield to become this floor general, especially with the team having Maxey, Payne, and Kyle Lowry.

However, just like what we saw with Embiid in Nurse’s offense, Hield will have opportunities to rack up assists, especially playing next to Maxey, Harris, and Oubre Jr., who can all score at a high rate. The Sixers are projected to have a ton of cap space this offseason and would love to potentially re-sign Hield to a multi-year deal.
