The Eagles signed Devin White to a one-year, $7.5 million contract in the offseason after the former Pro Bowler fell out of favor in Tampa Bay. Only a few years ago, White was a fan favorite in Tampa following his impressive postseason performance that culminated in a Super Bowl win. He had the game-sealing interception on Patrick Mahomes in his most notable moment as a Buccaneer.

Things didn't go according to plan since then. The Bucs exercised his fifth-year option but didn't give him a contract extension. He then requested a trade in the 2023 offseason that wasn't granted. Reports of him quitting on the team surfaced last year and he was eventually benched late in the season.

That is why a fresh start was needed for the former No. 5 overall pick to build back his reputation. The Eagles offer him a great chance to do exactly that.

The issue with that plan is the possibility that if he plays well, he will likely be out of Philadelphia's price range. If he doesn't, then the Eagles will not be interested in bringing him back. There are players like Nakobe Dean and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. who are on more team-friendly contracts and are waiting their turns to be full-time starters at linebacker.
