The Philadelphia Phillies opened the 2025 regular season with a three-game series on the road against the Washington Nationals. After the Phillies wrap up the series finale on Sunday afternoon in the nation's capital, they will return to the City of Brotherly for their home opener this week.

Philadelphia is scheduled to play the Colorado Rockies on Monday afternoon (3:05 p.m. ET) in the first of a three-game set. However, over the last few days, Phillies fans were concerned that the weather might delay the home opener.

According to 6ABC’s Accuweather, a spotty shower can’t be ruled out early on Monday, but the temperature should be in the mid-70s in the afternoon as it will be muggy and windy.

However, that muggy feeling will likely fuel some instability in the atmosphere, as showers and storms will reportedly develop west of Philadelphia. 6ABC also reports that the system will “push east to possibly impact part of the Phillies home opener.” They add that the main concern will be downpours and damaging wind gusts.

Meanwhile, The Weather Channel reports that the weather in the city should be okay before and during the game. At first pitch, it’s supposed to be 75 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and 15 mph winds out of the SSW. The precipitation chance is at 13%.

However, at 6 p.m. ET, things might get dicey at Citizens Bank Park. At that time, the Weather Channel forecast scattered thunderstorms with 13 mph winds SSW, 50% humidity, and 74 degrees. Hopefully, the game is on the verge of being over and not headed to extra innings.

Nonetheless, Philly fans hope the team can get the game in without any big delays.
