Before wrapping up their three-game weekend series against the Miami Marlins on Sunday, the Philadelphia Phillies announced that veteran outfielder Brandon Marsh is going on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to 4/17) with a right hamstring strain, per Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

To replace Marsh on the 26-man roster, the Phillies are calling up veteran Cal Stevenson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Marsh has not played since Wednesday night when he tweaked his knee trying to make a catch in centerfield against the San Francisco Giants. The veteran outfielder has had a rough start to the 2025 season after performing well in Spring Training.

This season, the 27-year-old Marsh is hitting .095 with a home run and five RBI in 17 games (51 plate appearances). Before going on the injured list, the veteran outfielder was in the middle of a disastrous 0-for-31 streak with 11 strikeouts in his last 14 games.

With Marsh sidelined, Johan Rojas has started in his place, playing well in centerfield and at the plate.

In his last three games, the 24-year-old Rojas has slashed .455/.500/.545 with a double and two RBIs, including a three-hit performance in Saturday's 11-10 win over the Marlins. He also has two stolen bases and an OPS of 1.045.

Depending on the severity of Marsh’s injury, Rojas could make a strong case to keep the center field job for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, Stevenson will likely serve as the Phillies’ fourth outfielder until Marsh is ready to return from the injured list. This season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Stevenson is hitting .192 with three doubles, a triple, and seven RBI (16 games).

Stevenson saw some playing time last season with the Phils, slashing .250/.333/.375 with three doubles and six RBI in 18 games. Defensively, he played 10 games in centerfield, four in right, and two in left.
