Nick Sirianni Could Suddenly Lose Another Coach After Latest News
The Philadelphia Eagles had a lot of chatter around the coaching staff going into the season. After a disappointing ending to the 2023 season, the Eagles decided to fire offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and defensive coordinator Sean Desai last January.
Head coach Nick Sirianni was able to keep his job but had to replace both coordinators on his staff. Philadelphia brought in Vic Fangio for the defensive side and Kellen Moore for the offensive end.
Those two units have been stellar this season, leading to the New Orleans Saints requesting a head coach interview for Moore per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Eagles News: Saints Request to Interview Kellen Moore
Under Moore's guidance, the Eagles are eighth in total offense (367.2), second in rushing offense (179.3), and seventh in scoring offense (27.2). This team scored 30-plus points in five games this season.
The Eagles have shown the ability to attack defenses in multiple different ways and maximize the potential of their offense. Moore plays a huge role in that and it caught the attention of the Saints brass.
New Orleans fired Dennis Allen on Nov. 4 and had special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi step in as the interim for the next eight games. They went 3-5 in that span and will take the next couple of weeks to gauge the coaching market.
Moore got into pro coaching back in 2018 with the Dallas Cowboys as the quarterbacks coach. He got elevated to offensive coordinator and held that position from 2019-2022 with Dallas. Moore then became the OC for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023 before coming over to Philadelphia.
The 36-year-old is known as a bright offensive mind. He has built up his resume over the last few years and the Eagles offensive explosion got even more eyes on him. There will be a lot of interviews taking place but Philadelphia may have to replace yet again OC if Moore leaves town.
