NFL Made Ridiculous Move After Saquon Barkley's Hurdle in Eagles Win
By Jovan Alford
Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley was all over social media for his highlight play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.
In case you missed it, Barkley caught a pass out of the backfield from Jalen Hurts in the second quarter. He evaded two tackles from two Jags defenders and then hit a backward hurdle. The hurdle amazed everyone as you don’t even see this play in Madden.
Barkley’s viral play also caught the attention of the NFL. In an interview with Whistle’s Air It Out show with AJ Greene and Justin Pugh, the Eagles star running back said he got drug tested right after the game.
It doesn’t come as a surprise to see the NFL do this as the league “randomly” administers drug tests to players when they have a game-breaking performance.
That said, does it make it right? No, it doesn’t. But when it comes to the NFL, we should expect them to do this.
The Eagles star running back was recognized for his performance in last week’s game against the Jaguars as he was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Barkley had 159 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. He also added three receptions (four targets) for 40 yards and a score.
The 27-year-old star running back has had five games with 100-plus rushing yards this season, including the last three games. Eagles fans will look for another highlight play against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10.
