The Philadelphia Eagles will look to punch their ticket to the NFC Championship Game on Sunday but first, they must get past the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round.

The Eagles are coming off a solid win in the wild-card round last Sunday, defeating the Green Bay Packers, 22-10 at Lincoln Financial Field. Philadelphia got a strong performance from its defense, which forced Packers QB Jordan Love into three interceptions.

Turnovers were the name of the game for the Eagles' defense and special teams units in last weekend’s game. On the opening kickoff, Philadelphia’s special teams unit forced a fumble as veteran linebacker Oren Burks put a brutal hit on Green Bay Packers cornerback/kick returner Keisean Nixon.

Burks was surprisingly not flagged for his hit on Nixon, but the NFL made sure to hit the veteran defender with a fine before Sunday’s kickoff against the Rams.

Eagles News: NFL Fines Oren Burks for Unnecessary Roughness in Wild-Card Game vs. Packers

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the league fined Burks $8,333 for unnecessary roughness (use of helmet) on his hit on Nixon. After last week's game, Nixon believed that Burks should've been penalized and he thought he recovered the fumble.

Burks’ big hit on Nixon set the tone for Philly as they scored a touchdown on the first offensive drive, with star quarterback Jalen Hurts hitting wide receiver Jahan Dotson for an 11-yard TD, his first as an Eagle.

The Eagles will hope Burks doesn’t get fined for his actions in Sunday’s game against the Rams as the veteran linebacker will have an expanded role. With Nakobe Dean out for the rest of the playoffs due to a knee injury, Burks and rookie Jeremiah Trotter Jr. will receive more playing time, alongside Zack Baun.
