The Philadelphia Eagles sit one game away from making the Super Bowl for the third time in eight years. The Eagles are hosting their division rival, Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.

While this is the sole focus of the players in Philadelphia, the NFL listed running Saquon Barkley as an MVP finalist by the Associated Press.

Eagles News: Saquon Barkley Named MVP Finalist

Buffalo's Josh Allen, Cincinnati's Joe Burrow, Detroit's Jared Goff, and Baltimore's Lamar Jackson were the other guys on the list.

As you can see, Barkley is the only skill player on the list. That showcases how elite and productive the Penn State product has been for the Eagles this season. Barkley signed with the Eagles as a free agent on a three-year, $37.75 million deal with $26 million guaranteed.

He always had outstanding playmaking ability, but this season, it was on full display. In his first season with the Eagles, the 2018 second-overall pick led the NFL in carries (345) and rushing yards (2,005). He was also eighth in the league in rushing touchdowns (13).

Barkley had seven games with more than 140 rushing yards in a game, including 17 carries of 20-plus yards. He's continued his dominance in the postseason, racking up 324 rushing yards and two touchdowns. In back-to-back playoff games, Barkley has compiled 115-plus rushing yards.

He gives the Eagles offense an explosive and dynamic weapon in the backfield. Barkley is always a threat to score whenever he touches the ball.

After being with the New York Giants for six seasons, he freed himself and is having a career year in Philadelphia. He was one of the best players in the NFL and deserves to be in the MVP conversation.

Eagles fans are thrilled to have Barkley locked in through the 2026 season. It took him only one season in Philadelphia to land in those MVP conservations.
