The Philadelphia Eagles are down in New Orleans as Super Bowl LIX week has begun. The Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to battle on Feb. 9.

On the way to the Super Bowl, the Eagles won three straight playoff home games at Lincoln Financial Field. In the Wild Card Round, Philadelphia defeated the Green Bay Packers 22-10. That was the second time this season that the Eagles defeated the Packers.

That loss is still bothering the Packers, and the comments by their President and CEO Mark Murphy showcase that.

Murphy wrote his monthly column to Green Bay fans. It was released on Feb. 1 and he was asked about the tush push. He expressed he doesn't like the play and wants it gone.

He wrote, "I am not a fan of this play. There is no skill involved and it is almost an automatic first down on plays of a yard or less. The series of plays with the Commanders jumping offsides in the NFC Championship Game to try to stop the play was ridiculous. The referee even threatened to give the Eagles an automatic touchdown if the Commanders did not stop it."

Murphy continued, "I would like to see the league prohibit pushing or aiding the runner (QB) on this play. There used to be a rule prohibiting this, but it is no longer enforced because I believe it was thought to be too hard for the officials to see. The play is bad for the game, and we should go back to prohibiting the push of the runner. This would bring back the traditional QB sneak. That worked pretty well for Bart Starr and the Packers in the Ice Bowl."

These statements are the latest example of Murphy being a hater on a play that teams in the league don't have an answer for. Teams haven't found a way to stop it so they want the play banned.

Philadelphia has one of the strongest offensive lines in the league paired with one of the most powerful quarterbacks in the league. That combination has been lethal.

We've seen other teams in the league attempt to mimic the tush push and fail miserably. Murphy's statements are the latest example of people around the league complaining because their team can't stop the tush push.

Find a way to stop it instead of complaining because that play won't be pulled from the Eagles playbook. Complaining about it weeks after shows that Green Bay is still salty about their loss.
