The Philadelphia Eagles saw their offensive coordinator leave for a head coaching job this offseason, as Kellen Moore is now calling the shots on the sidelines for the New Orleans Saints.

With Moore electing to leave the City of Brotherly Love, the Eagles elected to look in-house for his replacement rather than trying to poach a top coordinator or coach from another franchise. With Kevin Patullo now in charge of Philadelphia's offensive attack, one veteran believes that his usage rate is going to rise, and if he is right, that could make him a key piece of the puzzle for the Eagles moving forward.

New Eagles OC May Help Starting TE Dallas Goedert Stick Around

Dallas Goedert restructured his contract and took a pay cut from the $14.25 million he was set to earn during the 2025 season. This move was made to help Howie Roseman and the front office manage the salary cap after they gave out new deals to other players.

This was a team-first move by Goedert and should be celebrated as such. As fans have seen this offseason, these requests aren't always met the way Goedert approached this situation, and we may have insight as to why he was so open to the change following an interview with ESPN.

With Kevin Patullo taking over the reins as Philadelphia's offensive coordinator, Goedert believes that the connection the two have shared since his arrival at the franchise will help get him the football in ways that fans have not seen before.

“I’m really excited for Kevin,” Goedert said on ESPN’s NFL Live, via NBC Sports. “He’s been with us since Sirianni got here. He’s waited his turn to get this opportunity. Throughout OTAs, I’ve really loved what he’s doing with the offense. Little changes here and there and I’m really excited for the opportunity just to — with the connection I grew with him the last four years. What he sees in me in different ways that he’s going to get me the ball I’m really excited for.”

Goedert has been a steady contributor throughout his tenure with the Eagles. This past season, he reeled in 42 receptions for 496 yards and two touchdowns in just 10 games played. If he can become an even bigger piece of the puzzle, it would only make Philadelphia's offensive attack that much more dangerous. After seeing how the offense performed during the Eagles' run to the Super Bowl this past season, an improved offensive attack would be nightmare fuel for the rest of the league.

With Goedert set to hit unrestricted free agency following the 2025 campaign, a larger role in the offense would pay off big time for the veteran once negotiations with Philadelphia begin. In a way, Goedert is betting on himself with this move and, if things go as he expects, it could lead to a hefty new contract next offseason.
