In the least surprising news of the offseason the Philadelphia Eagles added another former Geogia Bulldogs defender in the 2025 offseason. Azeez Ojulari was a former division rival spending the first part of his career with the New York Giants. The veteran defender now gets to play with what is by far the most defensive talent of his career. If you're unable to work with Philly's stacked defensive line there is clearly a deeper problem.
This is already showing up in practice over the last week with reports continually pointing out Ojulari making plays. Both rushing the passer and defending the run, the veteran pass rusher is consistently showing up for the Eagles. It isn't a small feat to grab attention in this defense and it is proving many fan concerns wrong before the season has begun.
When the defender was signed, there was a sense of apathy around the signing. Ojulari has 22.0 career sacks and didn't make sense in some ways with the very limited cap space the Eagles had to spend. However, these early results point to why the franchise made the move and what the defender can become in an already stacked defense.
Ojulari with another nice play, this time vs the run and against the Browns starters. Good day so far for him

Surprise Eagles Defender Standing Out in Early Practices
For the Eagles, if Ojulari is able to play at this level in the regular season, the defense simply isn't going to be fair. It won't matter who Philly is matched up against; the defensive line is going to do exactly what they did against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in last year's Super Bowl. Add in a star-studded offense, and all the pieces are in place for another meaningful run.
The question is simply whether or not the same version of the veteran is going to show up in the regular season. A debate that can only be answered when the season begins. However, there is no denying just how exciting this is as the Eagles continue to be doubted and overlooked after an incredible Super Bowl run.
Philly will have an early chance to make a statement opening the season against the Dallas Cowboys before traveling to Arrowhead to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Starting the season 2-0 is a very likely possibility and would send a message even league pundits can't afford to ignore. The emergence of Ojulari only fuels this belief as the Eagles continue to close in on the regular season.
