The Philadelphia Eagles have made some whopping changes along the roster this offseason after winning Super Bowl 59.

Instead of running it back, countless players have left down. That list included Josh Sweat, Milton Williams, Kenneth Gainwell, Isaiah Rodgers, Darius Slay, and Mekhi Becton.

Becton signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers and will head cross country for the 2025 and 2026 campaigns. Despite spending just one year in Philadelphia, Becton penned a touching goodbye to the Eagles and the fanbase on his X account.

Mekhi Becton Says Goodbye to Philadelphia

Becton tweet had the caption, "Forever champions!!!! Love yall forever Philly!!!!"

In the farewell post, he wrote, "To the entire Eagles organization, thank you for taking a chance on me. Thank you for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be part of something special. Winning a Super Bowl with this team in this city is something I'll never forget. And to the city of Philadelphia, thank you. The passion, the energy, the support-it's unlike anything I've ever experienced. Playing in front of you was an honor and I'll always carry a piece of Philly with me."

Last offseason, Becton and the Eagles agreed to a one-year, $2.75 million deal. That came after four injury-riddled seasons with the New York Jets.

The Louisville product moved from tackle to guard with Philadelphia and excelled in that new position. According to PFF, he had a 75.2 overall grade (21st among 135 eligible guards) and a 74.7 run-blocking grade (19th among 135 eligible guards). As a pass-blocker, he only allowed three sacks and two QB hits.

The Eagles knew they got him for a bargain with the play that he put on the field in 2024. It would have been extremely difficult to retain him at that number, which is why they decided to let him walk. Regardless, there's no love lost between these two sides.
